Half houses, half townhouses and apartments
About half of Kew’s occupied dwellings are separate houses, with the rest split between townhouses and apartments (ABS 2021). Four in ten are owned outright.
Many electrical jobs here come with a renovation: lighting designed around joinery and kitchens, bathroom circuits, and a switchboard that can carry the extra load.

Common questions
When should the electrician come in on a renovation?
Early. Rough-in happens before plastering, so we plan circuits, lighting and appliance points with you first, then fit off at the end.
Can you wire heated towel rails and bathroom fans?
Yes. We wire heated towel rails, exhaust fans and heat, fan and light units as part of bathroom upgrades and renovations.
Does my old switchboard need replacing?
If it still has ceramic fuses, has no safety switches, or has no space for new circuits, it’s usually worth upgrading. We’ll look at it and tell you what’s needed.
Will a rewire damage period features?
We plan cable routes to limit disturbance to ceilings, cornices and walls, and discuss any patching needed before we start.
