About Canterbury

Established, owner-occupied houses

Nearly two in three occupied dwellings in Canterbury are separate houses and almost half are owned outright (ABS 2021).

When established houses are renovated, the electrical usually grows too: bathroom heating and exhaust, LED niche and mirror lighting, and a switchboard that can carry it.

FAQ

Questions we’re often asked

Can a new ensuite run off an existing circuit?

It depends on the load. Heating, towel rails and lighting often need their own circuits, which we check before quoting.

Can you wire LED lighting into joinery and shelving?

Yes. We wire LED strip into shelving, pantries and vanities, coordinated with your cabinetmaker.

Can outdoor lighting be on a timer?

Yes. We can add timers or sensors so path and garden lighting switches on and off by itself.
